100% of the fish. Nothing wasted.
At Isfjord, full utilisation of the fish is not an aspiration — it is how we operate. Every part of every salmon is accounted for, channelled into food, feed or industrial use. This is what responsible aquaculture looks like in practice.
Reducing waste is both an environmental commitment and a reflection of the respect we have for the resource we work with.

What cannot be sold as food becomes feed
Everything that remains after food-grade utilisation is converted into fish oil and fishmeal. These are processed into natural, nutritious ingredients used as feed in Norwegian aquaculture — a closed loop where the marine resource stays within the marine food system.
Fish oil from salmon processing is particularly valued for its omega-3 content, contributing to the sustainable feed supply that Norwegian aquaculture depends on. The proteins derived from our plus products are recognised for their high bioavailability and compatibility with salmonid feed.
Omega-3-rich oil pressed from fresh plus products. Used as a sustainable ingredient in aquafeed and nutritional applications.
Protein concentrate produced from frames, heads and trimmings. A premium ingredient for sustainable aquaculture feed.
Salmon proteins return to the marine feed chain — supporting a circular system with minimal external inputs.
Every fraction of the fish is accounted for. Nothing from our facility goes to waste or landfill.
